The worst can happen to you in SEO is being banned, unless you hired a scamer-hacker as a SEO.I say that because there is people saying that they are SEO but what they do will make you more harm than good.
To avoid being banned by Google and other search engines, you must use the white hat SEO (legal) instead of the Black hat SEO (try to fool search engines ).If you are not willing to spend more than $1000 in SEO, you will need to learn SEO for your own, otherwise ,a cheap SEO is likely to use black hat or simply do nothing.
These are my advises in order to not have a bad experience with SEO:
Do not spam the Search Engines with your structure.
As well as you do not have to obtain a lot of backlinks Quickly, It is a bad idea making evident that you are optimizing your page . The search engines, specially Google, dislike sites with their keywords too repeated or too close to the beginning. A good way to avoid doing it is using programs like SEO Suite, that warn you if you are spamming with the site's optimization.
Other thing is try to fool search engines because they are not humans. If you are using too small fonts, invisible words, too small images or a different description to what you are writing about , Google will catch you, because they have human editors.
These are the most common mistakes in that way:
- Use tiny text: Many people uses a very small font to show Google somewhat does not want to show to their readers. This is a mistake because search engines can detect it.
- Use invisible text: If you try to camouflage keywords putting them in the same color of your web site, you can be discovered by selecting all the text of the page.
- Too small Images: If you need images to put keywords in their alt tags, do not use tiny ones of 1px x 1px, this is attempt to Spam. The same happens with the text in the alt tags, it must be attractive for the human eyes.
- Bad integration of the keywords in the meta tags: A SEO program will detect if you are attempting to Spam according to the density and prominence of your Keywords. But as happen with the alt tags, what you are writing must be attractive for the human eyes. if you write ''peanuts online cheap online peanuts cheap'' you will be discovered by the newest logarithms using writing patterns. Instead of it, you can write: ''We deliver cheap peanuts online. find online the cheapest peanuts''.
Do not choose a bad SEO
